The Tempest is one of Shakespeare's last play and one of his most 
magical.  Set on an enchanted island inhabited by spirits, it tells 
of two castaways: Prospero, and his young daughter Miranda, who 
were cast ashore there 12years earlier.

Prospero is skilled in magic and one day he stirs up a raging tempest, 
the target of which is the ship carrying his old enemies: his brother 
Antonio and the King of Naples.  The ship founders, but all on board 
are safely conducted to the island by its spirits.

Once there the wrongs of the past are slowly undone - Antonio and the King are 
brought to repent of the injustice they have doneto Prospero, while Miranda 
and the King's son Ferdinand fall deeply in love.  And thus the story 
ends with all celebrating their future together in a spirit of repentance, 
forgiveness and love.
