Much Ado about Nothing is a comic tale of troubled courtship and marriage.  
Its charm lie in Beatrice and Benedick, two of the most delightful characters 
in the history of comedy.

The story begins with the visit of the Prince of Arragon and the lords 
Claudio and Benedick to the home of the governor of Messina.  There, 
Beatrice and Benedick promptly resume their "kind of merry war", while 
Claudio finds new fascination in the governor's daughter, Hero, 
and in quick time seeks to marry her.

The Prince's pleasure at this turn of events inspires him to set about, by trick 
and merry artifice, persuading Beatrice and Benedick into love also.  
Their hesitant conversion from enemies to lovers is soon clouded however by 
a sad reversal in the fortunes of the gentle Hero.  And it takes more 
artifice and a measure of good fortune before the evil done her is undone, 
her reputation is restored, and the two couples are brought joyfully to the altar.
